Elmer brings a diverse musical background to Shortstop, performing electric bass in the high school jazz lab and middle school concert band. He plays the double bass in the Dorothy Gerber Youth Orchestra. Yes, the double bass is a staple during a Shortstop performance.

lead GUITAR & BACKUP VOCALS
Joey's musical journey began with the ukulele before expanding into piano, trombone, and eventually electric guitar. His driving riffs, melodic leads, and love of rock music bring energy and personality to every performance.
vaughn
DRUMS & lead vocals
Vaughn has loved music and singing since he was young and began studying percussion at age 11. As both drummer and vocalist, he follows a tradition made famous by artists like Don Henley and Phil Collins, adding a unique dynamic to Shortstop's live shows.
ABOUT SHORTSTOP
Shortstop is a Northern Michigan rock band blending classic rock roots, 90s grunge energy, and original music into a sound all their own. The trio delivers high-energy performances and is quickly building a following across Michigan. Elmer and Vaughn met at preschool and have been rocking out ever since. Summer of 2024 they began as a duo with Elmer on Bass and Vaughn on drums and vocals. Joey became a member shortly after and the power trio "Shortstop" was formed, performing their first show in February 2025.
